Yours: Your physician is a good place to start, as he/she will know you and your risks/history. If it swells up quickly and or you at having trouble breathing, skip that and go to the er.

Swollen leg: I would recommend evaluation by a vascular surgeon to determine the underlying reason for the swollen leg. At that visit a venous Doppler-sonogram will be performed to determine if this is venous disease. If this test is negative, most likely reason would be lymphedema. After testing is completed a treatment protocol can be established.
