A member asked:

What effects will exophthalmic goitre have on the body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stimulate it : This type of goiter usually occurs in a condition called grave's disease. The thryoid is overactive and causes the body to be overly stimulated. The heart beats faster, the body speeds up and the metabolic rate goes up. With this, the person usually loses weight and starts to feel very weak. Eventually if not treated, it can become a serious problem.
