It depends on...: We can get adequate vit. D from the sun, but this depends on where you live, the season, how much time you spend in the sun, how dark your skin is etc. Most people benefit from vit. D3 from oct through april, & even all year if you don't spend much time in the sun or use sunscreen. A good dose for most people is 2000-5000 units/day. It may help to test your levels. Optimal levels are 50-80 ng/ml.
