Simple blood test: Any lab can administer this test. Injections are the least preferred method to get sufficient vitamin b12. Get it from food such as wild salmon, sea kelp, and other sea vegetables. Don't let someone stick you with a needle if you can avoid it. Just a way to make money for some doctors and other health care providers.

Your doctor: What makes you think you are deficient in B12? It can be ascertained by a simple blood test that your doctor can order. Depending on the cause of deficiency, if you have one, you may need B12 injections or sublingual B12 supplement.
