Long answer: It depends on the location, age and nature of the scar. Scars are permanent by definition, and therefore can not be "elimintaed". The goal is to minimize them through various and multiple treatments including prevention (avoidance of trauma or careful, controlled surgery if indicated), early treatment with sunblock and topical treatments (silicone, vit e), laser treatments and corticosteroids.

Scar appearance: Scars can improve by revision if they are wide thich and irritating. Some scar guard sheets may help smooth some. Surgery may be necessary to improve the others.
