What are the best non-surgical methods for reducing or breaking down excess scar tissue resulting from a recent or previous surgery? occ therapist currently using iastm metal tool to work on flexor tendon surgery scar, but not seeing any results yet?

Scar tissue size and growth is difficult to treat short of cosmetic surgical excision, and even such surgery is not guaranteed to prevent recurrence, since predisposition to form dense scars is a genetic trait.
