I have a stomach infection... do it cure itself or do i need to make an appointment with a doctor?

Upset stomach? worse: This is a good and frequent question: when do I need to seek medical help if my stomach is upset. I teach my patients to watch for increasing pain, fever, or a rigid abdomen. If one has both nausea and diarrhea one also should be seen for evaluation. Many stomach illnesses, however, are transient viral infections or reaction to something toxic or dangerous in your recent diet. Hope that helps.
