A member asked:

Will standing up relieve intracranial pressure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not if bad: Pressure inside the head can change suddenly with coughing, holding the breath, or standing on the head. This rapidly improves to normal with normal positioning and breathing. Blood flow to the brain can decrease suddenly if you stand up too fast. Serious increase in intracranial pressure will not improve with standing or breathing normally. Rapid breathing is used to help in the icu.
