High or low?: Low CSF pressure is treated differently than high. Treat the underlying cause (eg CSF leak following lumbar puncture) Raised ICP if due to an imbalance of CSF production vs resorption is typically treated with carbonic anhydrase inhibitors like Zonegran, Topamax (topiramate) or Diamox. Rarely is surgery (optic nerve fenestration or shunting done unless the increased ICP is due to a blockage of CSF flow
