A member asked:

Is there a medical term for something referred to as "brain attack"?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stroke: Tthe term "brain attack" was coined to educate the public on the urgency of getting early medical care for a stroke. Like a "heart attack", the longer you wait to seek help, the more tissue damage(brain) there is. There are now early treatments for a stroke to save brain if gotten within 3 hours of symptoms.
