A member asked:

What's the medical name for the symptoms of swelling the brain and not beign able to see?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BIH: Originally the name was pseudotumor cerebri. The name was changed several years ago to more accurately reflect what is going on. It is now called benign intracranial hypertension (BIH). It causes headaches and vision loss. It's more common in women, especially who are overweight. Diagnosis is made by spinal tap. Best treatment is weight loss, but diuretics are used and rarely surgery is necessary
