Home health aide: A home health aide is there to assist the client with activities of daily living which can include things like personal hygiene, showers, toileting, cooking, light cleaning, assist with ambulation, etc.

Assistant in home: There are several categories of service persons who help and support individuals in their home. Among those are hha who help with personal tasks such as bathing and sometimes more household activities such as meal prep. It varies. In general they cannot dispense medication but often can make it possible for individuals with some medical condition to remain at home.
