Specializes in Wound care

HH Nursing: In order to receive home health paid by medicare (or your insurance) you must have two things: a skilled need and you must be home bound. Skilled needs can include all kinds of things: wound care, physical therapy, medication monitoring, intravenous medications, etc. The hh nurse is responsible for creating a plan of care and monitoring which includes weekly visits, at the minimum.

It depends: It depends on the problems of the patient the nurse is asked to treat in the home. There are numerous chronic problems that are each treated somewhat differently. The nurse will make certain the patient is eating appropriately and living in a healthy environment..
