Difference between pilonidal cyst and teratoma?

Not similar: These are two very different and unrelated conditions. Pilonidal cyst is a type of skin infection and skin pits located in the midline between the gluteal muscles on your backside. Teratoma is an internal tumor that can rarely be malignant, such as a tumor of the ovary or testicle, containing embryonic cells , hair, teeth, etc.

Outside vs inside: Pilonidal cysts are located within skin, subcutaneous fatty tissue and can go to the depth of periosteum. Teratoma's are located inside the body, sometimes as part of an ovary.
