Addiction: Treatment: Yes. Anyone who is addicted to alcohol needs to be taught about the disease of addiction and how to ask for help and to learn how to stay sober. I do not support treatment plans that do not include some approach to a twelve step program with good fellowship and good education. Even nineteen year olds can get the program and change their lives to live authentically and honestly clean and sober.

Antabuse (disulfiram): Antabuse (disulfiram) is a medication for which a person becomes very physically ill if they drink alcohol while on antabuse (disulfiram). If the 19 yo would agree to have his daily Antabuse (disulfiram) dose supervised to insure he takes it, and it is explained to him that if he then drinks he will become very very very sick, that would likely help. I also recommend 12 step support groups and counseling.
