Not long term danger: Nosebleeds can occur spontaneously when the nasal membranes dry out and crack. This is common in dry climates. People are more susceptible to a bloody nose if they are taking medications like Ibuprofen (advil/motrin). The short list of causes: infection; trauma-picking; allergic/nonallergic rhinitis; hypertension, medication, alcohol; inherited bleeding problems.

Get checked: Nose bleeds are usually inconsequential. However, bleeding from both sides suggests a systemic issue and you should see your doctor for an evaluation.

Probably minor: reason if you have no bleeding elsewhere on your body. Could be dryness or from congestion if you have a cold or allergy. Nose bleeds are from bleeding vessels on the septum (center part ) of your nose. To stop them pinch the nose for at least 5-10 min without checking so that clots do not reopen. Use AYR saline gel to area nightly to moisturize and have less bleeding.See doctor if persistent.
