Yearly?: Without symptoms, running tests yearly? ANA positivity and low complement C3 only help confirm a diagnosis of an autoimmune disease such as lupus. However, no diagnosis is possible by these tests alone without signs and symptoms of a connective tissue disease. Sometimes these laboratory abnormalities run in families especially if someone in he family has a connective tissue disease.

Need symptoms.: No diagnosis without clinical symptoms especially if ANA is low titer (less than 1:320) and there are no specific antibodies ( as compared to nucleolar pattern). Low C3 suggests immune complex. Would be worthwhile looking at you once a year for few years to see if you develop a clinical picture, but lab testing is kind of grey here..
