Allergic Salute: The line may be from the repeated wiping of a runny itchy nose during childhood from allergies. Over time wiping with an upward motion of the palm by pushing up on the nose causes a horizontal line across the bridge of the nose. The line is white or hypopigmented in those with white skin & dark in those with dark skin due to post inflammatory changes in pigment. This should resolve with time.
