Complex issues: Gaining weight, not sleeping, and stress might well be associated with disordered menses, but the order in which each thing might affect the other is very complex. Certainly we know that stress can disrupt or change menstrual cycles -- but gaining weight and not sleeping can be part of "stress" itself. It would be best to see your own physician, to work on these things in your particular case.
