Meds : Transplantation has become widely available only because we have developed effective immunosuppressive medications that help prevent rejection. These medications put the patient at risk for opportunistic infections , so prophylactic antibiotics and antiviral agents are commonly used with them. Additionally, whatever medications the patient needs for other health issues (htn, dm, hyperchol...).
