Neurologist: This is an unusual complaint. In someone young and previously healthy, the most likely area of concern would be the peripheral nerves or spinal cord. If your family doctor cannot make a diagnosis, then a referral to a neurologist would be appropriate. Good luck.

Multiple Causes: May be due to a spinal issue resulting in nerve irritation. Also could be due to joint inflammation though the burning pain is usually due to a nerve related problem. If it has been present for some time, would advise undergoing nerve testing to narrow diagnosis and seek out a neurologist or pain specialist.
