Is it possible for a stress fracture of the foot to heal on its own without treatment?

Yes: While it may heal on its own, immobilization via a cam walker or surgical shoe will make it quicker and less painful.

Yes: The quickest route to healing would be to immobilize the foot, but the fracture will eventually heal on its own. The more pressurei n the area and the more motion trying to occur at the fracture line the more pain you will have.

Yes: It is much better to seek treatment. You do not want to end up with a non-union.
