Can a bedridden 70 year old diabetic take dialysis?

YES BUT ONLY IF: Benefits outweigh risks and expectations are reasonable from you and the patient.

It depends: There is no age limit that defines if dialysis should be initiated. Dialysis is the choice of patient or their healthcare power of attorney. Doctor, patient and family if present should discuss benefits and risks of dialysis and informed decision must be made.
