Flossing: While waterpiks are good and do a decent job, nothing is better than flossing when it comes to cleaning between the teeth. That physical contact disrupts all the bacteria and stops them from building up.

Both: My preference is to use both methods for the best result... An oral irrigator like hydrofloss is an excellent investment and most helpful in removing food which can lead to interproximal (between the teeth) tooth decay. Flossing is essential to gum health and it is important that patients floss. If a patient refuses to floss, using an oral irrigator can be helpful.
