Multiple factors: Centanarians have a few things in coomon. They are slender, socially engaged, feel they are still contributing to their community, physically active, often still working way past usual retirement age, have successful coping skills and eat and drink alcohol in moderation. Genetics play a role, but environmental and personal factors can modify even terrible genetics.
