Nightguard: Find a pankey or dawson trained dentist and they will most likely make you a custom nightguard. This custom appliance may require 3 or 4 additional fittings. A commercial nightguard or a lab created guard, without a great deal of bite equilabration training typically is not very helpful. Many patients bring an old nightguard in and we start from scratch and make an appliance that helps.

See your dentist...: If a specific tooth takes the brunt of your excessive grinding, a dentist can adjust it so that it's more balanced with the other teeth--like balancing tires. Also he can construct a mouthguard that protects your teeth when you grind. The best thing you can do , if you can, is reduce your stress. Meanwhile, make a conscious effort not to clench by putting your tounge between your teeth.
