Sleep apnea: There is no fool proof way to self diagnose this disease, if you have excessive sleepiness, inappropriate sleep events, snore yourself awake, these can be indicators, if you are overweight have hypertension, diabetes or hypothyroid. I would recommend seeing your physician for an evaluation.

NO: No matter what others may tell you, you need to have a sleep study to objectively determine if you have sleep apnea and the severity.

Sleep study only: Sleep studies are the most accurate tests for diagnosing sleep apnea. If you have symptoms of sleep apnea, your doctor will refer you to have a sleep study also called PSG. Good luck.
