Witch Hazel: Witch hazel is a plant extract which was used medicinally by American Indians. It has astringent & antioxidant qualities & has been used to reduce swelling. Many commercial witch hazel products also contain alcohol. I would not recommend putting witch hazel near the delicate tissues surrounding the eye. There would also be a risk that the witch hazel could find it's way into your eye - bad.
