Not a long list: A few examples: 1) after trauma with fracture of the nasal bones and septum with resulting deformity and nasal airway obstruction; 2) insufficient structural support at middle nasal vault or internal nasal valve (eg after infection, collagen vascular disease, prior surgery) and where septoplasty alone would not result in significant improvement; 3) nasal deformity associated with cleft lip/palate.

Obstruction/Trauma: Most insurance companies will pay for septorhinoplasty only when one of two conditions are met. 1, after substantial trauma which results in cosmetic (and usually functional) deformity. 2. In order to correct severe obstruction to nasal breathing which hasn't responded to medical therapy. You or your rhinoplasty surgeon will have to submit photographs and medical records for insurance approval.
