Septorhinoplasty: A septorhinoplasty is a procedure to alter the internal anatomy and external anatomy of the nose for functional and cosmetic reasons. It is a long process because it takes at least a year to heal. The first week is a little uncomfortable because of bruising and swelling and a cast and internal splints. Most people are sociable the second week.

It Depends: Septorhinoplasty (SRP) is a surgery to straighten the nasal septum and external nose. Goals are to improve the internal airway and the external symmetry. Aesthetic changes can be added as well. SRP is outpatient surgery under anesthesia. Typical followup is one week later. Patient experiences vary, but bruising and swelling can last up to 2 weeks. Healing continues for several months.
