Acids and sugars: Acids and sugars break down enamel. One of the biggest offenders is soda. If you choose to drink soda, make sure it is as cold as possible ( to slow down molecular movement ). Also be sure to drink it straight down, do not bathe your teeth in it.

Cariogenic Foods: Foods high in sugar consentration help bacteria produce more acid that destroy the enamel. Take into consideration the level of stickyness of foods. Natural foods like raisen and dates are very cariogenic. They stick to your teeth making their sugar available to the oral bacteria for a longer time. Reduce exposure by brushing & flossing after eating, specially sticky foods with high sugar content.

Hard foods (hard candy, ice, etc) can cause tooth fractures. High sugar/starch foods can provide support for acid producing bacteria which results in cavities. Additionally can cause obesity which stresses all tissues, including oral tissues. Carcinogenic foods.such as charred meat, increase cancer risk. Brush 2x/day, floss daily, see Dentist 2x/year.
