Confirm: First you have to confirm the diagnosis. If diagnosis made, then the extent of disease needs to be evaluated. If limited and no symptoms, there is nothing to do. If there is extensive disease, then either systemic therapy alone or along with surgical intervention. Hope this helps.

Better imaging: There is now better imaging for carcinoid that can help clarify symptoms and help make the diagnosis or find a small primary. Gallium 68 was popularized in europe but is now available in a handful of centers in the us including indiana, iowa, and tennessee.
