What can i do address a carcinoid tumour and carcoinoid syndrome?

Sandostatin (octreotide): If you have the symptoms of carcinoid, such as flushing and diarrhea than sandostatin (octreotide) can help. It is also indicated for metastatic disease as well as a 5-hiaa level greater than 25. So if you have any of these with a confirmed diagnosis of carcinoid, then this drug may be beneficial.

Depends: If the syndrome is due to liver involvement, liver directed therapies have been shown to be effective in controlling symptoms for months to over a year or more of time. These therapies only address the liver disease and in no way takes away the patients opportunity to continue sandostatin (octreotide).
