Yes, sometimes: Carcinoid syndrome is a symptom of a carcinoid tumor. If found early, carcinoid tumors can be removed surgically, and sometimes cured by surgery. If it cannot be cured, other treatments are given, both to slow the growth and to control the symptoms.
