Nasal reshaping: Rhinoplasty is the operation which is used to correct the shape of the nose. This can be done for cosmetic or functional reasons. There are a variety of different approaches and techniques which are used depending on what areas of the nose need to be changed. This is often done as an outpatient under general anesthesia. Recovery is usually relatively mild, with minimal pain.

Reshaping the nose: Rhinoplasty means to shape and form the nose. I like to do the surgery with incisions inside the nose with the patient asleep. A splint is worn for 1 week and activities limited for 2 weeks. Surprisingly there is usually not that much discomfort. Computer imaging can give you an idea of the result but shown results are not guaranteed.

Nasal surgery: Rhinoplasty is surgery on the nose. Rhinoplasty is not one operation, but rather a collection of various procedures that alter the shape of the nose. Commonly, rhinoplasty is combined with septoplasty. The nasal septum is a wall of cartilage and bone that separates the nasal cavity into right and left sides.

Changing nose shape: Rhinoplasty is a procedure to change the shape of the nose. Some common requests include removing a hump on the nose, making the profile straighter, making the tip of the nose less droopy, making the tip more refined (or less 'bulbous') and making the nose smaller.
