Can be cumulative: Most patients recover from a single concussion with little neurological sequelae. However, multiple concussions can lead to long term effects such as headaches, memory problems, cognitive decline, and ultimately dementia. Mri data on patients with concussions has demonstrated areas of injury particularly in the white matter tracks.

Definitely: Single episode of concussion almost always resolves. It is the repeated concussions that cause serious delayed problems. Unsteady gait, severe loss of memory etc. Are some of the examples of late effects.
