How long does it take to recover from a full stroke?

It depends: The type and severity of stroke matters in how long it takes to recover. Also, treatment instituted emergently by calling 911 may help reverse some strokes quickly. Calling 911 should be the first thing anyone does if they consider a stroke a possibility. Even transient (minutes) of weakness, numbness, trouble with speach, vision, or gait are all possible indications of a stroke.

What is "full"?: A full stroke would best be defined as fatal. There is no such thing but there are completed strokes in which the full extent of the damage has already been realized. Stroke recovery depends on many things including age, co-mordities, life-style support systems (family, friends etc) and a person's determination to overcome the stroke.
