Depends: On the hospital's infection control procedures and enforcement. Many people already have clostridium difficile in their GI tract normally, and it is not until you receive antibiotics or otherwise alter the normal bacterial population or your immune function that it becomes a problem. There are some strains, however, that have a greater propensity to produce disease, and hospitals harbor these.
