A member asked:

Other than mrsa and c.diff, what all hospital acquired infection can you catch from being hospitalized or after a surgery?

The same as they are without entering a hospital. The label "hospital acquired" just implies that a place you think should be safer may not be. Most MRSA and c.diff infections are acquired outside a hospital setting. Any germ in existence can get you in or outside a hospital.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. Hospitals have more patients with various infections, e.g., influenza, Respiratory syncytial virus, Covid-19, Norovirus, tuberculosis, etc and puts a susceptible person at greater risk.
