If you just got released from hospital post cabg surgery and happen to catch a cold or the flu, how serious is that? dangerous or just nuisance?

Depends: If you do not have any previous heart damage from infarction, no history of heart failure and no lung disease, it is more of a nuisance. But do not hesitate to speak to your cardiologist as things are never black or white.
