No: No. Pressure sores are caused by a break down of the skin when one is bedridden and the patient is not moved or on a special mattress. This is not a contagious condition. While visiting the hospital, however, make sure you wash your hands frequently (before visiting, during the visit, and after the visit) to prevent the spread of other infections to you or the ones you visit.

No: As with other 2 doctors, pressure sores are not contagious. If you become bed-ridden then you have an increased risk of developing pressure sores, which is exactly a sore caused by pressure. For hospitalized patients, nurses turn the immobile patient every several hours and apply some type of lubricating gel to decrease the chances of developing such sores. This is a hospital requirement.

No: Pressure sores are a essentially a physical injury. They are not contagious in the same way a sprained ankle is not contagious. However, they can be contaminated by bacteria and this bacteria can be spread from one person to another. This is why it's important to follow dr. Cheng's advice and wash your hands frequently.
