Fish, olive, veggies: Olive oil, veggies, fish are the staples of the mediterranean diet and they are all packed with healthy nutrients and antioxidants. Of course the way of preparation is also important. Raw, stewed, or lightly grilled without butter or heavy sauces. My personal favorites are lentils, okra, eggplants, tomaties, peppers and wild mushrooms. Studies have shown that medi diet decreased cardiac mortality.
