A member asked:

How do i know how severe my hypothyroidism is?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypothyroid : The "severity" is related to the pituitary gland's signal that the thyroid has failed. This is called TSH or thyroid-stimulating-hormone. The higher this is the more indicative of thyroid failure. Tsh can wax and wane depending on the degree of thyroid inflammation.
