A member asked:

Does riding a bus vs. driving cause more wear-and-tear? what about walking up steps w/ osteoarthritic knees?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Driving/riding bus/: Long question if you do not have any pathology in your lower extremities including knees, than it does not matter whether you drive or ride the bus.Knees can withstand wear and tear of either. If you have osteoarthritis of knees , you should clinb the stairs slowly, take your time one at a time holding on the rail so there is less strain on your knees.
