Pediatrics #1: A pediatrician is held responsible for caring for newborns up to the point that they reach adulthood. We make sure that a child is maturing into a healthy adult. One of the main ways that pediatricians are able to take on this task is by playing close attention to the signs that he or she sees. Peds looks to maintain the healthy lives of children as they grow & develope/mature.

How are you wired ?: One of the prime factors that pushed me away from family medicine was the adult patient. Many you must see will have chronic afflictions they themselves caused & are not interested in a the healthy lifestyle you want them to try. If that won't drive you crazy, you may do well. Kids are a joy at almost any age & their parents are genuinely interested in keeping then healthy. I've never regretted it.
