At what usual age does a child stop seeing a pediatrician and start seeing a family doctor?

Depends...: If a child started out life seeing a pediatrician, and you are happy with the care he/she provides, then typically children are seen by the pediatrician until they are 18 years old, and then they transition to a family practice doctor or internist.

Depends: Pediatricians usually stop seeing children once they reach the age of 18. However, i know some pediatricians still see some of their patients until 21 years of age. This usually is because of a pediatric illness or disease.
