A member asked:

I have recently discovered a small round spot or lump on the eyelid of my right hand eye, it sometimes hurts and has just ever so slightly blurred the vision of my right eye. what could this be?

Lump in lid: Most likely this is a "chalazion". A cyst-like formation resulting from a specialized oil producing gland that has become blocked. It often needs to be excised surgically, but in the early stages may respond and resolve with wam compresses and antibiotic/steroid drops or ointments. Some ophthalmologists may prefer to inject the "lump" with a steroid injection with generally good response.

Chalazion: It is a obstructed gland of the eyelid which has developed some scar tissue. Northing serious
