Mainly for ADHD: Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is used primarily to treat adhd, improving inattention, impulsitivity, and hyperactivity symptoms. A common side effect is loss of appetite and the medicine has been used to help with weight reduction. Because it improves wakefulness it is used to treat sleep disorders like narcolepsy or sleep apnea as well. Side effects: anxiety, irritability, headaches, fast heart rate, nausea, others.
