Most true ADHD is evident in childhood and can respond to stimulants. By adulthood many patients decide to opt out of medication because of side effects or just develop the capacity to live/work without them. I don't think there is an age that is too old, but your changing system may not be as receptive to what worked before. Discuss it with your doc.

Our understanding about ADHD has evolved immensely. We now know that the majority of children with ADHD continue to have it as adults. As long as You don’t have contraindications to stimulants, you may benefit greatly. Find a psychiatrist who is experienced caring for adults with ADHD. Plus there are many different medications in addition to Adderal now..
