What type of doctor do you need for esophagus diagnostic test?

GI: To diagnose esophageal disorders, a gastroenterologist, or GI doctor, is needed. This is the same type of doctor who performs colonoscopies. But, if you are not sure what the problem is, see your family doctor first so the correct referral can be made.
